Anti Bark Collars Training - Important things to Remember Before Using Anti Barking Collars Before placing the activated anti bark collars on the dog, you must carefully choose the first situation in which it is going to be used. This situation must be one with limited and if possible no distractions. If you have a visitor over for the initial training, the dog may associate the corrective pulse to being caused by the visitor and not the barking. It is equally important that the dog be well supervised by the owner and not left alone during the beginning of training. This experience is new to the dog as well and it is vital to be present in order for the dog trust you with this new training

Day One

• You must select a reward, a small piece of food, that the dog finds very desirable and that he will accept every time to assist with training. Positive reinforcement is the most effective reinforcement.


• The dog owner will then place the anti bark collar around the dog's neck for approximately two to three hours. The collar must be fitted in the same manner that it will be during actual training. Refer to the product manual to ensure the collar is fitted properly.


• Once the anti bark collar has been worn by the dog for a short period of time, give the dog their food reward. Repeat this reward several times as the dog wears the collar.

Day Two

• Repeat day one’s procedures for a five to six hour period. Do not forget to reward them.

Day Three

• This is when official training begins. The dog will be startled the first time they experience the corrective pulse. It is very important that this part of the training be supervised by the owner and performed in an environment with little to no distractions. If there are too many distractions, the dog may not make the connection between the static correction and their barking.
